Funeral service will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel in Clinton with visitation from 12:00-1:00 PM prior to the service.
Cremation to follow with a private family inurnment in the Antioch Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri.
Marlan Darnell Wilson transitioned to heaven at age 66 on Tuesday February 7, 2023. He was born April 2, 1956 in Clinton, Missouri to Kermit and Shirley Wilson. He was the oldest of 9 siblings. Though he had no biological children of his own he stood in the role of both uncle and great uncle.

Marlan attended and graduated Clinton High School in 1974. He then moved to Springfield, Mo and in September 1981 he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served 8 years.
He later attended Career Institute of Technology in Long Beach, CA earning a certificate in computer processing. Marlan applied that knowledge as he worked for Fritz as a tariff compiler, California State University, and Light Span as a software development analyst.
In 2002 Marlan returned home to Clinton, Mo. He worked at both Schreiber Foods, and Pathways prior to becoming the primary caregiver for his grandmother Viva Wilson.
He retired military, but continued to stay on the battlefield for the Lord. He attended Solid Rock, Mount Calvary, Allen Street Baptist, and a current member of Life Ministries. In all those places he was an active member of the praise team. He loved to worship the Lord. Music was his passion. He also enjoyed bible study, prayer services and challenging others to walk in the admonition of the Lord. He loved family, cooking, and watching football.
Marlan is preceded in death by his mother and father, grandparents J.O. and Viva Wilson, both his brothers; Jeffery and Douglas Wilson.
Leaving to honor and cherish his memory his brother Rodney Wilson(Linda) of California, Gregory (Wanda) Wilson, Sylvia Day(David) of Clinton, Sonya Wilson of Clinton, Sheila Wilson of Lee's Summit, Mo, and Stephanie Wilson of Clinton, nieces, nephews, and host of cousins and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
