Mike was born on September 12, 1962 in Monett, MO to the late Ted and Suzanne (Nance) Peters. He was a 1980 Monett High School graduate. He married Susan Stidham on October 15, 2016 in Harrisonville, MO, where they began a life together.
Mike worked for Old Castle Building and Envelope in Atlanta, GA until his retirement. He began his career in architectural sales at EFCO Corp; where he met several lifelong friends and family that he loved even more than his career. Mike made friends anywhere he was. He had an ornery smile and a laugh that was even bigger than life. He was always full of adventure, whether traveling, coaching, or obsessing over sports. His greatest passion in life was being “Papa Mike” and spending time with the family and friends that he loved; most often around the water with good music, food, and lots of laughs.
Mike was preceded in death by his siblings: Chattie Jennings, Kathy Peters, and Larry Peters. He is survived by his wife, Susan Peters, of the home; siblings: John Peters and wife, Sue Dawn, of Noel, MO; and Sabra Patton and husband, Evan, of Purdy, MO; his children: Zacharie Peters of Augusta, KS; and Autumn (Peters) and John Palmer of Pierce City, MO; and bonus children: Tyler and Samantha Stidham of Peculiar, MO; and Kristyn and Kyle Richner, of Buffalo, MO. “Papa” Mike loved his 10 grandchildren wholeheartedly: Jarrett Dombroski, Javon and Trey Milton, Brody Peters, Jaycie Palmer, Jaxson Peters, Charleigh Richner, Wade Richner, Rowan Peters, and Adelynn Stidham.
