Bates County Elks Scholarship awarded to three area students

The Bates County Elks Lodge awarded 3 scholarships for $500 per year for up to four years to the following three students from Bates County. 

The recipient's are Lexie Ward (Ballard High School), MaKayla Mallett (Butler High School), and Annalee Gardner (Butler High School). 

The 2023 Bates County Elks Most Valuable student scholarship is awarded every year to local high school students. The Elks National Foundation awards $2.44 million dollars in college scholarships to a total of 500 high school seniors nationwide. Receiving one of these scholarships makes them eligible to potentially receive a bigger scholarship in the future ranging up to $20,000 a year. 

If you have a child in the area looking to get a college scholarship please make sure they sign up for this one. Applications will start online in August of 2023.
