Shooting Investigation underway in Nevada

On Wednesday May 3, 2023 at approximately 10:38 p.m., officers from the Nevada Police Department and Vernon County Sheriffs Office responded to the 1200 block of N. Main Street for a report of gunshots fired. Responding emergency personnel located one male subject that had sustained gunshot wounds.

The male subject was transported from the scene by ambulance and transferred to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield via air ambulance.
