Miami County Kansas Sheriff's Office warns of scam

Over the weekend, we received multiple reports that someone was calling, stating that they were a Detective from the Miami County Sheriff's Office and that they have a warrant for the persons arrest.

The caller states that the bond is $5000 but will try to talk the person into paying whatever they can afford immediately on the phone.

Government Agencies, including the Miami County Sheriff's Office, will not call to take care of a warrant over the phone. If you ever are concerned that a phone call may be a scam, just hang up and call that office, business or individual back with the correct number to confirm the information.
