Obituary - Ervin "Mac" McCurdy

Ervin "Mac" McCurdy was born January 2, 1944, in Appleton City, Missouri to Zora Thompson McCurdy and Goldie McCurdy. Mac served three years in the United States Army in his youth.

After his service ended, he met and married the love of his life, Patricia "Patty" Davis in 1975. When he married Patty he also accepted her three children.

Together Mac and Patty had two children. Mac spent the majority of his life working to make sure that his wife and children were taken care of as much as they were loved. They were married for 50 years.

Mac enjoyed listening to music (as loud as he could turn it up), dancing, going to the casino with his wife, and spending time moseying in Branson. He spent many weekends at Club 83 and Goldies Bar dancing and enjoying life. One of Mac's favorite things to do was to visit swap meets and yard sales buying whatever he could get cheap!

Mac was a chatterbox and loved to talk and tell stories to anyone who would listen. Mac spent 35 years as a welder and 12 years driving for the Amish communities. He loved driving more than all the jobs he worked. He gained many new friends, some who eventually turned into family.

Mac was preceded in death by his parents Zora and Goldie; his brother Buck; a grandson; granddaughter; and two great-grandsons. Mac is survived by Patricia M. McCurdy; his children, Terry J. Smith (Joe) of Taberville, Missouri; Clinton "Gene" E. Stanfield (Sherlyn) of Liberal, Missouri; Christopher L. McCurdy of St. Joseph, Missouri; Sherry L. Rector of Rich Hill, Missouri; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

To his Amish friends and family, thank you for taking care of Mac when he wasn't at home with us. We appreciate everything you did for him.
