Nevada man killed in St. Clair County accident

On Saturday September 14th around 4:45 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in St.Clair County along with the St.Clair County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a motorcycle accident on US-54 Highway around one mile west of Collins.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occured when the east bound 2006 Chrysler Town and Country driven by a 23 year old James A. Moyers of Oak Grove, Missouri had an equipment failure, crossed the center of the roadway, and struck a west bound 2002 Harley Davidson driven by a 63 year old Jesse E. Murray of Nevada, Missouri, after the crash the bike traveled off the roadway, and struck a fence. Mr. Murray was ejected upon impact.

Three people were injured in this accident. Mr. Moyers sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri for treatment. 

A 12 year old juvenile occupant of Weaubleau, Missouri sustained minor injuries and transported to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri. Mr. Murray was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home in Osceola, Missouri.

This is Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 76th fatality of the year 2024. Next of kin has been notified. Next of kin notified
