On Saturday, May 10, the Bears travelled to Higginsville for the district track meet. This meet represents the first of three rounds of the state series of meets that ultimately culminate in the state championships in Jefferson City in two weeks. Seven Butler athletes finished in the top four of their respective events and will move on to this coming Saturday’s sectional meet in Archie. Many of the bears are continuing their improvement and 13 new PRs were set. Four of the qualifying seven were crowned district champions among the 17 events that bears will be competing at sectionals, and to top everything off, the FOURTEENTH new school record this year was set!
Points were awarded to eighth place. Below are the results of bears scoring points for the team or setting a new PR.
