First Youth Posse graduation held this week

The Bates County Sheriff's Posse held a graduation ceremony for our very first Youth Posse Class this week. Our inaugural group included three outstanding students from Butler High School who showed up, worked hard, and successfully completed the program.
This curriculum—written and taught by law enforcement professionals of the Bates County Sheriff's Office —introduced students to the fundamentals of law enforcement and criminal justice through both classroom instruction and hands‑on learning modules.
This milestone has been years in the making and represents the fulfillment of a shared vision between the Posse and Sheriff Chad Anderson. Our goal for this program is to positively impact Bates County Youth and help educate future community leaders and first responders. We couldn’t be more proud of these dedicated young people.
Congratulations to our first graduating class! Well done!!

Our next Youth Posse class begins June 1, 2026 and is open to high school students in Bates County. If you have a student who may be interested, please contact Corporal Jonhenry Jackson at the Bates County Sheriff’s Office before April 1st.
