Over the weekend, Nevada Police Officers Palmer and Miller were dispatched to I-49 in reference to a motor vehicle crash where the driver had fled the scene.
Upon arrival, officers began investigating the crash and searching the surrounding area for the driver. Officer Palmer located the driver, a Kansas City resident, walking along nearby railroad tracks a short time later.
During the investigation, officers observed indicators that the subject was under the influence of alcohol. The driver initially could not be positively identified on scene; however, officers utilized a mobile fingerprint scanner, which successfully confirmed the subject’s identity.
The individual was taken into custody and is facing multiple charges, including Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Driving While Revoked, and Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash.
We appreciate the quick response and thorough investigative work by our officers to ensure the safety of the motoring public.
