From the desk of Harrisonville Mayor Brian Hasek

I am happy to announce that Tuesday night I signed the Ordinance granting a special use permit for Dale Williamson to open a Tattoo shop on the square in Harrisonville.

This has been a long process (too long for my taste) and I am excited for him to get his business off the ground. Congratulations.

The southbound I 49 exit to Mechanic street in Harrisonville is closed due to this accident.

The exit will be closed for the foreseeable future and we will update as soon as possible. Only minor injuries are reported at this time.

Harrisonville Police and Emergency Services were dispatched at approximately 0753 hours to the exit ramp for an overturned semi-truck and trailer.

The trailer has fallen on its side and is blocking a portion of the ramp. The driver was treated at the scene and released for minor injuries.

Due to the trailer being loaded the ramp is expected to be closed for several hours to upright the truck and remove it from the roadway.
