Lowry City woman arrested in Cass County

On 2/15/17 Around 5:55pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County arrested 33 year old Michelle L. Bourland of Lowry City, Missouri.

She was arrested for 1.) Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Michelle L. Bourland was booked into the Garden City Police Department and she was later released.

Bill Baxter, 98, of Strasburg, Missouri formerly of Cass County died February 13, 2017.

Visitation will be held 6:00 t0 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2017, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Graveside funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017, at the Strasburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Luke's Hospice House and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Butler woman arrested on Probation and Parole Warrant

On 2/15/17 around 5:34pm the Butler Police Department arrested 33 year old Ashley C. Bukaty of Butler, Missouri.

She was arrested for 1.) Felony Probation and Parole Warrant.

Ashley C. Bukaty was booked into the Bates County Jail and placed on no bond at this time.

Prayers for baby Rebelle

Rebelle Raegan Wagner was born 2-11-17 she is the daughter of Ashley Sims and Michael Wagner of rural Adrian. Rebelle is currently at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri with Pneumonia from Meconium aspiration. Obituary - James Monroe Littleton, Jr.

James Monroe Littleton, Jr.
James Monroe Littleton, Jr., 80, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away February 14, 2017 in the home with his loving family surrounding him. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, February 16, 2017 with a Masonic service at 8pm at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, Missouri. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 17, 2017 1pm, also at the chapel. 
Interment will be at Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri.  The family suggests memorial contributions to Crossroads Hospice and may be left in care of the funeral home.  Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com

He was the youngest child of 13 of James Monroe Littleton, Sr. and Ollie Mae Dixon Littleton. He was born July 20, 1936 in South River, North Carolina. Jim started to work at an early age for Rival Mfg. Co. in an entry level position. His service with Rival was interrupted with him going into the Army, and he served in the Korean war from 1950-1953. After being honorably discharged he resumed his job at Rival and climbed the corporate ladder to become a plant manager in Warrensburg, MO and Flowood, MS. He retired on October 30, 1994 with 41 years of service. On November 7, 1964 he married Barbara Zeiler and they began sharing the responsibility of raising their 3 children.

He became a Mason in the mid 70's culminating in becoming president of the Golden Valley Chapter of the Shrine in 1983. Jim is a member of South Haven Baptist Church in Belton, Missouri. His hobbies were golf, casino, family, travel, country music, hunting and fishing.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, 6 sisters and a grandson.

He is survived by his spouse Barbara and his 3 children; James "Bud" Littleton (Jess), Carolyn Carroll (Lanny), and Pat Lawson (LaVon), also a brother Clinton Littleton (Polly) of Newport, NC, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice for their loving care.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.

Butler Fire Department assists in battling garage fire in South Amoret

The Butler Fire Department assisted the Amoret Fire Department on a fully engulfed garage fire on the South side of Amoret on Wednesday afternoon.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time and the garage was burnt to the ground and is a total loss.
