Obituary - Ernest “Ernie” Loyd Wilson

Ernest “Ernie” Loyd Wilson, 66, Harrisonville, MO, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his home. 

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation from 1:00-2:00. Contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.

Obituary - Steven Lynn Catron

Steven Lynn Catron age 64 passed away on October 8, 2018 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Visitation for Mr. Catron will be held Thrusday October 11, 2018 from 5pm-7pm at the Schneider Funeral Home & Crematory located at 816 Main Street Pleasanton, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be held Friday October 12, 2018 at 10:00am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mound City, Kansas with Father Barry Clayton officiating.

Two injured in Vernon County Crash

On 10/9/18 around 2:00pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County responded to a two vehicle accident on CR 2400 around 3 miles NW of Walker at Halley Road.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1990 GMC Topkick driven by 46 year old Louis J. Trytsman of Walker, Missouri and the 2010 Isuzu NQR driven by 32 year old Cory C. Shultz of Jopilin, Missouri met at a uncontrolled intersection and collided.

Cory C. Shultz sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri for treatment.

Louis J. Trytsman sustained moderate injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Both trucks were totaled and towed from the scene by Garwood's Wrecker Service of Nevada, Missouri.

Obituary - Roger C. Prewett

Roger C. Prewett, age 76 of Clinton, Missouri passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at his home in Clinton. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com. Roger's wishes were to be cremated with a private family service.

Roger was born July 4, 1942 in Rolla, Missouri. Roger farmed for 30 years and was an auctioneer for Prewett Auction services in Clinton and Warrensburg for 26 years until his retirement. Roger was a member of the National Farmer's Organization and the Missouri Auctioneers Association.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Dolphus Prewett and Alice Prewett and his son-in-law Chris Swope.

Roger is survived by his wife, Lucille (Lou) Prewett, son, Steven (Barbara) Prewett, daughter, Kim Swope, grandsons, Dalton and Derek Swope, siblings, Carolyn (Vertle) Blackwell, and Andrew Prewett (Nica Hunt).

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.



Obituary - James K. Buckley

James K. Buckley, age 75 of Clinton, Missouri passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 at Westwood Living Center, Clinton, Missouri. Fond memories and Condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com

A Celebration of Life for Jim will be on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:30am at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton with visitation one hour prior. 

A graveside service will be at 2:00pm at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice Compassus, Osceola, Missouri and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Jim was born in Springfield, Missouri to Kenneth Buckley and Genevieve Womack. Jim spent much of his life in the Clinton area and attended Clinton High School.

He was a mechanic of all things especially cars and bowling machines. Jim worked for AMF and in the 1970's and 1980's worked at a multitude of bowling ally's all over Missouri but home was Meadowlark Lanes in Clinton, Missouri. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. 

Jim enjoyed solitude but always welcomed family and friends. He was loving and generous and would give his last dime to a stranger in need. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching Royals, football, NASCAR and old westerns.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Samuel (Sammy) Buckley, and Kenneth (Shorty) Buckley.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Alice (Cliff) Trager, Parkville, grandchildren, Jordan, Mallory, and Caitlyn, brother, Jerry Buckley, Fair Play, sister, Sara Buckley, Osceola, numerous nieces and nephews and his ex-wife and friend, Phyllis Richey.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.



Urich woman seriously injured in Henry County Crash

On 10/9/18 around 8:15am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County responded to a one vehicle accident on Missouri 7 just north of CR NW 401 in rural Henry County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2018 Kia driven by 43 year old Pamela K. Ricketts of Urich, Missouri traveled off the right side of the roadway down a embankment and struck a concrete culvert before coming to rest.

Pamela K. Ricketts sustained serious injuries in this accident and she was transported to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Gary's Towing.
