Obituary - Helen Marie (Davis) Hensley

Helen Marie “Kuhl” Hensley, 88, Nevada, MO passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020 at Nevada Regional Medical Center. Helen was born March 30, 1931 in Brunswick, MO to Joseph R. “JR” and Laura Mae (Evilsizer) Davis. She was united in marriage to Norman R. Kuhl, Sr. on January 28, 1946 in Glenwood, IA and to this union her five children were born. On September 11, 1982 she married Clyde “Dude” Hensley and he preceded her in death in March of 1984.

Helen lived in Missouri, Iowa and Kansas while growing up. She lived most of her adult life in Marceline, MO and Kansas City, MO. Helen came to Nevada in 2005 to live with her daughter, Karen and her son Frank.

Survivors include two sons, Norman Paul Kulh, Jr. and his wife Nancy, Odessa, MO, and Franklin Wayne Kuhl, Nevada; two daughters, Karen Faye Hauf, Nevada, and Jean Marie Watson and her husband Andy, Nevada; two step-daughters, Norma Hensley, Ozark, MO, and Wilma Hensley, Branson, MO; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Wayne Davis, Clinton, AR; a sister, Loretta Potter, Mendon, MO; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Dude, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sharon Kay White; and one brother, Harley Richard Davis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.

Taken into custody without incident.


Obituary - Carson Levi Elmer

Carson Levi Elmer, 18, Adrian, MO, passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 in Virginia, MO.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Adrian United Methodist Church with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery.  

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:30 p.m. Thursday, February 13, at the Adrian United Methodist Church with Tribe of Mic-O-Say services at 7:30.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Adrian Boy Scout Troop 238.

Obituary - James Banner

James Carrol Banner, age 85 of Adrian, Missouri died Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Adrian Manor in Adrian. He was born November 28, 1934 to Eddie Dean and Dorothy Opal Dennis Banner in Milan, Missouri.

James is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Snedeger and husband Russell of Raymore, Missouri and Brenda Ballard and husband Chris of Urich, Missouri; one brother, Ronald Banner of Milan, Missouri; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phillis Sue Banner; five brothers; and two sisters.

Yes, it's a big deal...

Congrats to Butler High School student Makayla Mallatt, who is state bound in wrestling. Makayla is the first ever BHS lady state wrestler. 

To her opponents- remember that dynamite comes in small packages.
