Updated Obituary - Ira Clinton Barnard
Ira Clinton Barnard, 75, Adrian, MO, formerly of Harrisonville, MO, passed away Monday, June 29, 2020 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2020 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2 at the Atkinson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wills Cemetery in Peculiar, MO.
Ira was born January 27, 1945 in Harrisonville, MO, a son of Clyde Velmer and Kate Christina (Eifert) Barnard. He married LaVonne Hanson on December 24, 1969 at the Lutheran Church in Belton, MO. He had lived in Harrisonville before moving to the farm in Adrian in 1995. Ira had worked at Busy Bee Salvage in Harrisonville before buying his own business. He owned Barnard Auto Salvage in Harrisonville for 38 years, before retiring in 2010.
Ira loved working hard at his salvage yard and visiting with his friends and customers. He loved working on his ranch with his cattle and cutting and bailing hay. He loved being on the cruise ships and eating at the buffets. Ira did so much for so many, his friends, family and the community. He had a reputation of being kind, honest, hardworking, trustworthy and was a solid businessman with integrity unmatched. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure; you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
Ira was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, LaVonne, of the home and one daughter, Theresa Barnard, Garden City, MO.
The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words of encouragement and support during this difficult time. May God Bless you all.

Obituary - Mary Ellen Munsterman
Mary Ellen Munsterman passed away at the home of Mike and Georgia Munsterman, Holts Summit, Missouri, on Sunday, June, 28, 2020, at the age of 94.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 2, from 6-7:30 p.m., with Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Montrose, Missouri.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, July 3, at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with internment at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Montrose, Missouri.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Montrose, Missouri, or Hospice Compassus, and may be left in care of the funeral home. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com. The family requests mask be worn to services and social distancing be respected. Mary was born in Henry County, Missouri, on December 6, 1925, to Andrew Joseph Brownsberger, Jr. and Magdalena (Nold) Brownsberger. She graduated from St. Ludger’s Catholic School in Germantown, Missouri, and St. Francis Academy in Nevada, Missouri, after which she worked as a secretary for Vance J. Day Insurance in Clinton, Missouri. She was united in marriage to John Munsterman on May 4, 1948, at St. Ludger’s Catholic Church in Germantown, Missouri. John and Mary worked together to make a secure and welcoming home on their farm near Montrose, Missouri, and to this union five children were born.
Mary’s priorities were God and family, and faith and prayer were central to Mary’s life. She was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and spent many hours serving the parish community through Altar Society and other ministries. Mary loved the Lord and took pleasure and comfort in attending Mass and receiving the sacraments wherever and whenever possible.
Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed gardening, quilting, playing cards, assembling puzzles, and watching Kansas City Chiefs football. Mary delighted in her time with family, and her efforts provided them with cherished moments and lasting memories.
Mary is survived by her children, Ted (Diana) Munsterman, California, Missouri, Mike (Georgia) Munsterman, Holts Summit, Missouri, Dale (Sue) Munsterman, Appleton City, Missouri, Thea (Henry) Wiskur, Leeton, Missouri, and Lisa (JK) Munsterman, Newport Beach, California; and 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Joan Munsterman, Appleton City, Missouri, and many dear nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John, her parents, and her brother, Andrew J. Brownsberger, Jr.

Nevada woman seriously injured in early morning crash in Vernon County
On 7/1/20 around 1:58am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County along with Vernon County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on CR 2125 around 4 miles southeast of Milo.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2004 Hyundai Elantra driven by 27 year old Trevor S. Miller of Nevada, Missouri ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a embankment.
A passenger in the vehicle 31 year old Ashley N. Gage of Nevada, Missouri sustained serious injuries in this accident and she was transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri for treatment.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene of the accident by TCB Tow of Nevada, Missouri.
