Obituary - Patsy L. Yates
Patsy L. Yates, 79, of Adrian, MO passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at her home. A private inurnment will be held at Crescent Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital.
Patsy was born November 11, 1944 to Clarence Todd and Ethel (Swanigan) Todd in their home in Celt, MO. She attend Butler High School in Butler, MO. She married Levon Yates of Adrian, MO on June 3, 1961. They moved to rural Adrian in 1967, where she continued to live until she passed away. Her and Levon had three sons. Patsy worked at Yoss Thriftway in Adrian for 17 years and then later would clean houses for a handful of friends and family. She was still cleaning a few houses up to the fall of 2023 before she turned ill. As her boys were growing up, Patsy was active in the community being a Cub Scouts leader, as well as, secretary of the Adrian Little League Association.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Levon; brother, Larry Todd; and nephew, Robbie Todd. She is survived by her sons: Randy (Dee Dee) Yates of Adrian, MO; Troy (Mary Beth) Yates of Adrian, MO; Monty (Brenda) Yates of Rose Hill, KS; grandchildren: Josh (Keisha) Yates of Adrian, MO; Chelsey Yates (Mike Erickson) of Adrian, MO; Dannielle (Kaleb) Platt of Butler, MO; and Alyxandria (Derek) Hendry of Rose Hill, KS; great-grandchildren: Kristian, Brayden, Bentlie, Kooper, Sophia-Dee, McKenzie, Tyler, and Rylee; brothers: Robert Todd of Butler, MO; and Travis Todd of Adrian, MO; sister, Norma Jean Berry of Butler, MO; several nephew and nieces; and her great friend, Cindy Sollars.

Fatal Shooting tonight in rural Butler
Bates County Sheriff's Deputies are on the scene of a fatal shooting that just occurred outside the city limits of Butler.
All parties involved in the incident are in custody and there is no additional threat to the public.
No further information will be released at this time.
