Edna Matilda Kunkel passed away on January 24, 2017. She was born in Garfield County, Oklahoma on August 23, 1920. She grew up in Chelsea, OK. Her parents were Theodore and Matilda Schnackenberg. Edna was from a family of seven children.
The many things she enjoyed in life were family, traveling, sewing and quilting, playing bridge, other card games and her many friends. She travelled all over the world including Germany, Hawaii, Alaska, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Abu Dhabi, UAE. Scripture Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept my faith”.
She was preceeded in death by her son Allan Kunkel; and her husband, Earnest Kunkel. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Moynihan and husband Joe of San Antonio, TX, her son Sam and wife Judy of League City, TX; daughter-in-law Sherry Kunkel of Nevada, MO. Her grandchildren are Nora Burgess and husband Shane of San Antonio, TX, Dan Moynihan and his wife Emilie of Pasadena, CA, Chase Kunkel and his wife Kaley of League City, TX, Jamie Kunkel and his wife Rachel of Schell City, MO, and Jacqueline Spratt and her husband David of Nevada, MO. She has 14 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-great Grandchildren; one brother Melvin Schnackenberg and his wife Marge of Silver Spring, MA; a sister-in-law Regina Schnackenberg of Tulsa, OK.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery, Schell City. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
