More meth off the streets in Bates County

On 3/20/18 a K9 Deputy observed a traffic violation of a vehicle traveling southbound on I49. While the deputy attempted to obtain vehicle plate information the vehicle exited off I49 at AA Highway. The vehicle then pulled off onto the outer road and the subjects exited the vehicle. The subjects advised the Deputy that they thought they felt an unknown shake in the vehicle. The Deputy asked for identification from the subjects.

As the Deputy looked at the driver’s license of one of the subjects he observed a crystal like substance on it. The Deputy then conducted a field test of the crystal and it tested positive for methamphetamine. The Deputy then made contact with the subjects and advised them they were under arrest. The Deputy then located a container in the console that contained approximately 44 grams of methamphetamine.

Both subjects were transported to the Bates County Jail.
