Steve grew up in Tipton, Missouri and graduated from Tipton High School. He was a hard worker all his life, employed at a young age for Swift Poultry in Sedalia and the oil fields near Great Bend, Kansas for several years. He later was Foreman for the building of the Toll Bridge in Osage Beach, Missouri and operated, along with his family, Wood Chucks Tree Service.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Gilmore, of the home, his children; Stevie Knight, of Harrisonville, Missouri, Christy Jaco Moesch, of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, Levi Johnson, of Warsaw, Robin Johnson, of LaMonte, Missouri, Marla Johnson, of Warsaw, Jenny Gilmore, of Warsaw and Cody Johnson, of Warsaw, a brother, Randall Gilmore, of Clarksburg, Missouri, a sister, Connie Summers, of Warrensburg, Missouri, two step brothers; Buddy Butts, of West Plains, Missouri and Bobbie Butts, of Texas, a half-sister, Victoria Gilmore, of Clinton, Missouri, numerous other relatives and many friends. He is also survived by his loving and faithful dog “Moonshine.”
Funeral Services for Steven L. Gilmore will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the Reser Funeral Home. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Interment will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri.
